‘The Name of Victory is Turkey’ photo exhibition opensThe ‘The Name of Victory is Turkey’ photo exhibition, featuring photographs taken during the coup attempt on 15 July 2016, has opened.Organised by Hitit University, the exhibition features 52 photographs belonging to the Presidency Communications Directorate.In his speech at the opening ceremony, Hitit University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Öztürk noted that the university had organised programmes during the week of 15 July to ensure that the impact of the night of 15 July on Turkish history, particularly recent history, is not forgotten, that it is not forgotten by new generations, and that lessons are learned.Stating that they organised the ‘The Name of Victory is Turkey’ photo exhibition for this purpose, Rector Öztürk said, "Under the leadership of the Presidency Communications Directorate, we will share with our people an exhibition of photographs depicting the heroic deeds of the nation, the greatness of the state, and the heroic epic showing that this country is not without owners, as well as works that reveal the dark side of that day, opening the way for the truth, and taking us back to that night both visually and emotionally with the mistakes and, unfortunately, the unwanted images. we will share with our people an exhibition of photographs depicting the heroism of the nation, the greatness of the state, and the epic of heroism that shows that this country was not left without owners."Öztürk stated that Hitit University will organise another programme this week, announcing that a discussion titled ‘The Longest Night: 15 July, Victory's Name is Turkey’ will be held on Thursday, 17 July 2025, featuring 15 July veteran and Presidential Advisor Turgut Aslan as a speaker.Öztürk concluded his remarks by saying, ‘I pray that Almighty God accepts the martyrdom of our 251 martyrs and wish our more than 2,000 veterans a healthy and long life.’Speaking at the ceremony, Çorum Governor Ali Çalgan emphasised that the struggle of our nation against the treacherous coup attempt on 15 July, based on the belief that ‘Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation,’ was epic.Governor Çalgan said, "This nation has always stood by its will, and it will continue to do so with determination. I hope this meaningful exhibition raises awareness, and I remember all our martyrs with mercy and our heroic veterans with gratitude,‘ he said.Following the speeches at the ceremony, attendees toured the exhibition and examined the photographs.The ’The Name of Victory is Turkey" Photo Exhibition will remain open until 17 July at the Hittite University North Campus Social Life and Culture Centre.
